Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice

(OTTAWA, ON) - The Most Reverend Scott McCaig, CC, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Canada, announced that His Holiness Pope Francis has awarded a priest of the Ordinariate the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Cross:  Reverend Father Terry Cherwick.

The Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice (Latin:  For Church and Pope) decoration is an award of the Roman Catholic Church. It is also known as the "Decoration of Honour." It is currently conferred for distinguished service to the church by lay people and clergy.
